It works for me!

Hello again! It's been exactly a week since my last post and I'm happy to say that I have indeed lost some weight from my new workout and diet regimen. By diet, I don't want to falsely promote calorie restriction, or detox fads or any of the sort. By diet, I really just mean the things that I eat.

So, the last time that I posted, I came out about my weight gain and how I had hit the 70kg mark. But today, it's Day 10, which means I'm a third away from achieving my goals. I'm currently at 63.9kg I try not to get so bogged down with my weight, so, I try to only weigh myself at least 6 days apart. So, you will not see me weighing myself every day.

In total, this is a 6.1kg (13.4 pound) loss of total body mass. No, I'm not dehydrating myself, I try to make myself drink at least 2 litres of water everyday. Trust me, it's become a habit that if I were to skip this, I would feel so horrible. I don't know much about teatox and what-nots, I personally do drink tea just because it's kind of the culture in England. So, I have black tea, with no milk and no sugar. But occassionally, I have soy milk to go with my tea, but that isn't very often. Like for example, I had a matcha tea latte which I made by myself using only matcha powder and soy milk and, well, I call it really isn't. But it was good nevertheless.

I'd say I've been eating less of the junk food that I usually eat and the only unhealthy things that I still can't stay away from are desserts and I think I had Nachos and nuggets which I was really craving for on Saturday. But honestly, my point here is not to cut out food from your diet entirely especially if you really love eating food, but just to moderate it and also, you use 2400kcal everyday just by living, so, even if you're living a sedentary lifestyle, you'd still be burning calories either way. My tip is to exercise and to be mindful of what you're eating.

I cut out juices and high calorie drinks such as hot chocolate and lattes that you get from stores because your body can't register the intake of liquid calories, so, you actually have a higher probability of gaining weight because all the sugar that you consume is stored in your body. I've realised that not having the occasional glass of orange juice also helps, but mainly because I've resorted to eating fresh fruits instead of just drinking it and if you think I'm cutting out all the good stuff in my life, let me just tell you that I had strawberries with chocolate sauce for breakfast this morning, so, I don't think it's gotten worse. But, I am very mindful of the things that I eat, so, if I've had something sweet, I make sure to drink plenty of water afterwards so that I would be able to flush out the toxins in my body.

I'm turning 23 this year and I've heard so many times that your body slows down metabolically at this age and honestly, this is the heaviest I have ever been in my life. My normal weight. When I say "normal", I mean, the weight that I'm used to being at is 49-50kg (108-110 pounds). Now, this is very normal for me, because I have a low bone mass, which varies from person to person. The average bone mass for a person is approximately 30kg and the rest is your organs and what nots, so, yup, that's my ideal weight.

So, what I've been doing is:

My workout goes something like this:

1. Treadmill (30 minutes: 15 Run [9.4kph-0.5 elevation], 15 walk [6.6kph, 10 min- 9.0 elevation, 5 min 0.5 elevation]
2. Elliptical (15 minutes try to keep it at 11-13kph speed)
3. Stationary bike (10 minutes - always above 100rpm)

Then I follow the Blogilates monthly workout calendar which helps me tone my muscle.

This is my normal workout, sometimes, I switch it up and go for classes, like Step and Tone at the gym that I go to, otherwise, I do weight training, but I'm really not into muscles, so, I just use really light weight for the arms and the back and we're girls, so don't worry about building up huge muscles, because we can't be that pumped unless you're eating pills and all those things.

Don't worry, this will not be you- Image from Google images.

I hope this is a good first update, if anyone has any requests as to what I eat and all that sort of things or if you'd like me to make a video, do let me know in the comments section. I'm still working towards losing another 13.9kg at the moment and I have 20 days left. I'm not starving myself at all, so, this is completely healthy and I am eating well and thinking well.

Till my next post. xx
