KACA Brunei- MUBARAK BOOK EMPORIUM

As you all know, I'm very much interested in anything and anyone who are concerned about the well-being of their society and the ones that try their utmost to place themselves, or their organizations or their company at a higher standard by actually caring for the people around them.

So, I found out that my readers are mainly from Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. Singapore is where my dad is from, Malaysia, I've been living here for almost all my life and Brunei was where I was born, my hometown. Hence, it is only natural for me to care about the happenings in all three countries.

Recently, which is two days ago, on 12.12.12, one of Brunei's pioneer bookstore company, Mubarak Book Emporium, decided to make a change and at the same time, made a whole lot of difference not only to their staffs' lives as well, but also to the lives of 60 beautiful disabled kids and their parents from KACA. This event was held at Kiulap, Brunei Darussalam.

Meet the diligent staffs. The one in black is KACA Managing Director, Haji Abdul Halim, the one in blue is Mubarak Book Emporium's owner, Hameem Mohamed Yoosuff, the one with the crossed arm in the white long sleeved shirt is their manager, Barkath Ali.

Did someone invite, Bobo the clown? Apparently they did. Lots of MBE balloons to giveaway.

The staffs enjoying themselves with the special kids.

The staffs giving out colour pencils and art blocks for the participants in the colouring contest.

Oh wow, look at their swag, I guess we have our Brunei PSY over here.

The kids wanted to play "musical chair".

Getting ready for going Op, Op, Op, Oppa Gangnam Style.

This is so sad, this beautiful girl has had her eyes sealed for as long as she can remember, a birth defect, but that has never stopped her from spreading the love. Inspirational, isn't it.

Oh look, it's DJ Daffy from Kristal FM. Yes, he was kind enough to give a surprise appearance and sure enough, he lit up the room instantly.

Staffs handing out T-shirts.

Seems like Mubarak Book Emporium's effort to give back to the community, did indeed spread all around and this can be proven with the amount of media coverage received for that one event.

Mubarak Book Emporium has proven that no matter what you do, you can always change someone's life by doing something for them. They are one of the biggest bookstores in Brunei and are well known for selling the cheapest magazines. Do check them out and I do think that any effort to give back to society is a wonderful one.

Like their Facebook page, if you're in Brunei, do go down to their stores. End of the year sales are soon to begin. Even if you don't live in Brunei, still, do like their page to show them your support.

It's very comforting to know that there are still people who care about society not only because of fame and money. When they chose to do this event, they didn't know that they would get back so many feedbacks and encouragement. Do leave a comment and smile and enjoy the festive season.

Last but not least, more pictures.

Till my next post. xx
